In a demonstration of strong labor unity, the major film and television labor unions, I.A.T.S.E., SAG-AFTRA, Directors Guild of America (DGA), & International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT), released today "The Safe Way Forward."

The report is a Multi-Union Report on Covid-19 Safety Guidelines that provide a more detailed set of science-based protocols that serve as a path for Employers to responsibly provide a safe workplace in a pre-vaccine, Covid-19 world. The link to the report is here.

This report from the major labor unions and the protocols contained in it intend to build on the basic guidelines released last week in the Industry-Wide Labor-Management Safety Committee Task Force on COVID 19 "white paper" which involved all the major film and television labor unions and the AMPTP, the group representing the studios.

In the coming weeks, the four unions working together will use the guidelines in this report as well as other developed department protocols as a basis to discuss with the AMPTP specific protocols regarding mandatory testing, personal protective equipment (PPE), workplace operations, and department-specific procedures to ensure that we can return to a safe workplace.
